About us
The company specialises in stonemasonry and was set up in 2002 by William Fleming who has amassed considerable experience in this sector of the building industry. In his formative years he trained with some of Scotland’s foremost stonemasonry contractors and worked on some of Scotland’s most famous buildings such as Stirling Castle, Paisley Abbey, Mitchell Library (Glasgow) and Atlantic House (London).
To continue the expansion and development of the core services William Fleming joined forces with Les Dean a chartered quantity surveyor with accreditation in building conservation works. For over twenty years Les had previously worked in private practice and a number of repair/restoration contractors, focussing on repair works of traditionally built properties of historic or cultural significance.
Thus in 2008 Fleming Masonry Contractors Ltd was created and growth continues.
With resources available to carry out works up to £2M in value, FMC Ltd are ideally suited to carry out short and long term projects both as main contractor and as subcontractor to other organisations.
Operating from its base in Glasgow FMC Ltd have carried out works throughout the UK and to a wide and varied client base including private individuals, church committees, commercial organisations, conservation bodies and building companies.
